Surgical Abortion Services

Surgical Abortion

Surgical Abortion Procedures are available up to 24 weeks from the start of the last menstrual period, as determined by ultrasound in our office.

A surgical abortion is performed with your choice of local anesthesia (up to 12 weeks only), light sedation with an oral sedative, or intravenous sedation (twilight sleep).

Surgical abortion procedures for early term pregnancies, up to 14 weeks, are usually done in a single visit. For late term pregnancies, 15 to 24 weeks, surgical abortions are done in a 2 step procedure.

Surgical Abortion Follow-up Care

After your surgical abortion a follow-up visit is very important. You must come in for a post-procedure visit 2 to 3 weeks after the abortion. There is no charge for this visit.

Late Term Abortion

Are you more than 14 weeks? Learn about our Late Term Abortion Services.

State of Arizona Consent

The State of Arizona requires that women having an abortion must have a consultation with the doctor at least 24 hours prior to the procedure. The state requires us to give you certain pieces of information at that consultation. This information can only be given to you in person by one of our doctors. This means that you will need to make two visits to our office, one to receive the state-required information, and once for your abortion procedure. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please understand that this process is required by state law.

To Our Valued Patients,

Please see the below COVID 19 Patient Info:

A friendly reminder as the CDC updates COVID19 guidance: masks are still required in all healthcare settings, including our office. Read below for our current COVID19 protocols:

  • Only patients are allowed in the office. Minors may have a parent/guardian present to complete state-required consent paperwork
  • We screen for COVID-like symptoms and exposures; your appointment may be rescheduled pending a negative COVID test if you appear to have symptoms
  • You must wear an approved mask over your nose and mouth (no mesh, shields, half masks, etc) the entire time you are in our office. We are unable to see patients who do not wear their mask correctly.
  • Your driver must check in with the front desk before your procedure can be started. They will not be able to stay in the waiting room with you
  • If someone else is using their debit/credit card to pay for your services, they must come to the office with their ID to make payment, or we can send a PayPal invoice. They will not be able to stay in our waiting room with you

*We continue to follow CDC guidelines for healthcare settings. Our COVID-19 policies are non-negotiable to receive care in our office*
